Privacy policy

Last updated

This policy explains how GarnetSync ("we", "us") handles personal data collected through this website, garnetsync.com. It does not cover the GarnetSync platform used by our customers, which is governed by our customer agreements, nor the client portals our customers run under their own brands.

What we collect

When you fill in a form. Your name, work email, company, role, and anything else you choose to tell us: your website, country, trading platform, where your brokerage is (launching, switching or growing), and your message. We also record the page you sent the form from and when.

When you visit. Our servers keep technical logs (IP address, browser and the pages requested) to run the site and protect it from abuse. Your IP address is also used to limit how many messages can be sent from one network.

Analytics, only with your consent. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site, with IP addresses anonymised.

Why we use it

  • To answer your enquiry and arrange a demo, on the basis of your request and our legitimate interest in responding to it.
  • To keep the site secure and working, on the basis of our legitimate interest.
  • To understand how the site is used, on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your details for automated decisions about you.

Who we share it with

Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract: our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services), our email provider, and, if you consent, Google for analytics. Some of them may process data outside your country; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Website enquiries are deleted 12 months after they arrive, spam 30 days after it is marked. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR or South Africa's POPIA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data, to object to its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact page.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change, and change the date at the top.
