Reconciliation & ledger
The ledger and MT5, matched by deal ticket.
Each MT5 server day, at least 30 minutes after it ends, the ledger is compared with the balance deals on your clients' live accounts. Anything that doesn't match waits, counted in the sidebar, until someone explains it by name.

Reconciliation & ledger: the rules
A check that never skips a day.
- 01
Once the day is whole
It starts at least 30 minutes after the server day ends, and only once the bridge has re-read that day whole, so a dealer's late change is included.
- 02
By deal ticket, never by time
Three outcomes: not on the server, not in the ledger, and amount differs.
- 03
No day skipped
Days follow the server's own calendar. A daylight-saving day is 23 or 25 hours, and checked as it is.
- 04
One email, one count
Finance gets one email about open mismatches, and the sidebar counts them "to explain".
- 05
Explained once, by name
Each mismatch is explained once, by a named person.
- 06
Demo money left out
Demo accounts are never part of it: demo money never reaches the ledger.
Close of day
Three deals match. One needs a name.
One server day: four balance deals on MT5, three lines in the ledger, joined by deal ticket. The deposit booked by hand in MT5 is the one that waits to be explained.

Explained by Daniel Whitford: a wire booked by hand in MT5 by the dealing desk.
The ledger
The side that gets checked.
Every operation the queue approved and the bridge booked, each with its MT5 deal ticket and approver. No role can edit or delete a line, so what reconciliation reads is what happened.
- The deal ticket on every line
- Approver and time
- No edits, no deletions

Reconciliation & ledger: questions
Straight answers.
What happens to a deposit booked by hand in MT5?
It shows as "not in the ledger" for that server day, with its deal ticket, account and amount, until someone explains it by name.
Why wait until the day has been re-read?
A dealer can change a deal after the fact. Waiting until the bridge has read the whole day again means the check sees the day as MT5 finally recorded it.
Where to next
Where the ledger comes from.
Each line in the ledger was a request first: approved by the right people, then booked on MT5 once.
